About Hotel Radha Neyveli

The town of Neyveli was developed in 1956 with the establishment of the Neyveli Lignite Corporation, a public sector enterprise that supplies lignite coal for thermal power stations across the region. The thermal power station was inaugurated by Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru on May 20, 1957. The first unit was synchronised on May 23, 1962, and the facility was fully commissioned by 1970. This was the first and largest lignite-based thermal power station in South India, designed to promote industrial growth using local lignite deposits.
